Portfolio Categories: Artists.

Josep Bofill Moliné is a Catalan artist born into a large family of well known painters.
In 1983, after graduating with honours at the Llotja de Artes school, he created a Sant Jordi allegory (Alegoría de San Jorge) for the Palacio de la Generalidad in Barcelona.
Since then, he has participed in several national and international exhibitions, both individually and as part of a collection such as at the Centre d’Art Contemporain de la Casa da Cerca in lmada, Portugal and the Kwai Fung Hin art gallery in Hong Kong. Josep Bofill has also exhibited many times at COFA – Claire Oliver Fine Art in New York.
He has received many honorary awards and he has received numerous prestigious public commissions that can be admired in many countries.

Josep Bofill is interested in the prism of emotions emanating from materials such as iron, resin and cement. Crafted from the inside using theatrical mediums such as glass and light, the density, almost mineral, displays an impromptu finesse, activating a strange animation of the material.
By generating these three-dimensional sculptures, and creating a range of conflicting emotions, Josep aligns the essence with that of humans.
The pure aesthetics of Josep’s work lead the viewer to reflect deeply and to consider the materials used, and their symbolic efficiency.
