BOUNOURE & GENEVAUX

Bounoure & Genevaux use the fold as a unique plastic language: for them the fold is like «a pen for writing in space». They use cut and folded forms to create a floating sense of spatiality. They have entitled this form of plastic expression «Shaped pattern». Their three-dimensional work tends to abolish the boundaries between painting and sculpture, image and object. The folds formed in the sheet metal are revealed by the light. Their mirrors, folded, are less objects than devices re-creating images, decomposing the real. By the new framing that the work proposes, the spectator is invited to pay attention to the present.
